Folk of Nizip-Söğütlü village

?Folklore? deals with material and moral cultural products those belong to people living in a country or in a certain area. It assorts those products with methods which are special to it, analyses and comments. At the end of these stages, it aims to reach a combination.The topic of this study is the culture of Sogutlu and material or moral products of their culture. In the first part of the study; dealt with historical, economical and social structure after a general survey. In the second part, traditions which are gathered and belonging to the transition periods are listed. In the third part, Folk Literature products written in verse and prose gathered in Sogutlu are dealt with. In the other parts, believes, traditional foods, child?s plays and seasons are mentioned. The basic feature of this study is that it is a kind of ?composition study?. Therefore, beside the gathered anonymous products, definitions about the anonymous products and classifications formed in advance are postponed. Since there is no other researches about Sogutlu except this study, all of the anonymous compositions in the district are reflected in the form of verbal culture via resource people.Affixing bibliography and resourse people?s names at the end of the study, it is aimed at contributing the possible following researches about the district.Keywords: Composition, Folk, Folk Literature, Nizip, Sogutlu
