Cultural, social and political life of Turkish community in Kosovo in the context of census policies

The censuses, which constitute the main source of the progress and planning necessary for the development of a country, also affect the minority policies in the countries. The aim of this study is to examine the cultural, social and political life of the Turkish community in Kosovo in the context of census policies. Accordingly, the official censuses in the history of Kosovo were examined and the results of the census revealed the fluctuating numbers of the Turkish population. The political developments underlying these results were investigated and their impact on the census results was examined. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the censuses were affected by the political developments as well as the political developments had reflection on the censuses in Kosovo.
