Socio-economic status of that winds Beşkonak and Işıklar Karyn according to populatıon and Temettuat Registry

From the foundation of the Ottoman Empire to its collapse, the most important source of income was taxation. Previously, while taxes varied in type and quantity, new regulations were made in the field of taxation as in the case of many areas (such as economic, social and agricultural) after the announcement of the Tanzimat in 1839, and the old confusion in the tax system was removed and simplified. Dividends were calculated to determine the amount of and the type of taxes. Taxes are calculated and recorded according to the annual income of the person. The books on which the records are kept are also called Temetuat Note Books ("Temettüat Defterleri"). In this work, which I have done as a graduate thesis, the Temetuat Note Books' of Beşkonak Nahiye and Işıklar Karye under Serik Township of Teke Sancağı Serik were transcribed and used as the basic source. From the information and findings obtained from the notebooks, it tried to shed some light on the demographic, social and economic life of the region and the period. Book of Beskonak Nahiye is the book coded as ML.VRD.TMT.d and numbered as 10537. The size of this notebook is 18.7x88. The date on which the book was saved is H.1260-1261 / A.D.1844-1845. The written page is 79 pages, the blank page is 13 pages, and 92 pages in total.
