Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to investigate that eating attitude, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, characteristics of impulsivity, diagnosis of ADHD and the properties of axis I and II in obese individuals and to find the presence of the subgroup defined. In this study, 110 obese (VKİ? 30kg/m²), 80 overweight (VKİ=29, 9-25 kg/m²) and 105 normal weight ( VKİ= 18, 5-24, 9 kg/m²) individuals were involved and questionnaires which examined the sociodemographic data, SCID I and SCID II, Eating Attitudes Test, the Wender Utah Rating Scale, Barrat Impulsiveness Scale-11, Maudsley Obsessive Compulsive Questionnaire and the Symptom Checklist- 90 (SCL-90) were applied. In conclusion, this study showed that obese individuals has recevied psychiatric comorbidity more than controls and more psychiatric symptoms, more disordered eating behavior and impulsivity found in obese individuals than controls. The obese group seeking treatment had more impulsivity and eating disorder attitudes and more frequent diagnoses of axis I and II were available in this group. In this study a positive relationship has been demonstrated with the increasing BMI and impulsivity, abnormal eating behavior, ADHD-like symptoms in obese individuals. More studies are needed to say that there is a obese subgroup in which have all of these features is a group of OCSD.
