Abstract (EN)

Aim: The aim of this study is to compare the nutritional and physical activity levels of obese or normal body mass index individuals. The aim of the study was to investigate body fat percentages, body mass indexes, physical activity and nutrition habits. Material and Method:Survey management was used in this study. In addition, chi-square test, Phi And Cramer's V and pearson correlation analysis were used to compare nutritional and physical activity levels of individuals.The population of this study consists of healthy individuals with different BMI. The study consisted of 60 males, 60 females and a total of 120 subjects. 40 (33.3%) of them were primary / high school and 80 (66.7%) were undergraduate / graduate. Results:In this study, there was a statistically significant and moderate relationship between the subjects having obese or normal body mass index and whether they had enough information about nutrition (X2 (2) = 16,005; p = .000 <.05; Phi And Cramer's). V = .365), it was found that individuals who do not have sufficient information about nutrition are more obese than others (84.0%) and this situation is statistically significant.There was a statistically significant and weak relationship between subjects' having obese or normal body mass index and whether they were doing physical activity (X2 (1) = 6.910; p = .009 <.05; Phi And Cramer's V = .240), it was found that the individuals who did regular physical activity were more at normal weight (65.2%) than those who did not do regular physical activity, and the individuals who did not do regular physical activity were more obese than those who did regular physical activity (59.5%) and these situations were found to be statistically significant. Conclusion: in this study, individuals who do regular physical activity, have a balanced diet, have a high level of nutritional knowledge, have low obesity, watch intensive TV, use drugs, have o low education level, and those who are hereditary obese in their family are more prone to be obese.
