The Impact of homework on academic achievment: A meta analysis study

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine common effect size of the experimental and corelation researches about homework published in international journals between 2006-2015 with meta analysis method. This study includes 31 research and 51 subgroup examine effects of homework to academic achievement because of the study limits. In this study Hedges's g was used for effect size. According to the year of the study, course, type of homework and the level of education moderator analysis was performed. Also it is included publication bias and sensitivity analysis. Individual studies combined and it is seen that structure is heterogeneous. Therefore general effect size was calculated random effect model. Analysis result, it is found effects of homework to academic achievement E++=0,54 positive and middle effect size. In the meta analysis, obtained critical value of p show that homework studies can be combined and used by teachers.
