Analysis of the cultural intelligence of instructors

The aim of this research is to reveal the metacognitive, cognitive, motivational and behavioural dimensions of cultural intelligence of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Faculty of Education faculty instructors. In addition to this purpose, whether there is a difference between the views of the instructors according to their academic titles within the framework of these dimensions of cultural intelligence will also be examined. The sample of the research consists of seven Prof. Dr., nine Assoc. Prof. Dr., five Dr. Lecturer and six Research Assistants working in Mugla Sıtkı Kocman University, Faculty of Education. Of the lecturers in this sample, 12 are female and 15 are male. In the research, a semi-structured interview form which is prepared based on the Cultural Intelligence scale was used for data collection. The data obtained as a result of the interviews were analysed using content and description analysis. As a result of the analysis made, it has been understood that the instructors participating in the research had high levels of cultural intelligence in the metacognitive dimension, in the cognitive dimension, the success of the instructors in having knowledge about the similar and differentiating aspects of different cultures decreased, in motivational dimension, they are successful in multicultural environments or interacting with individuals from different cultures and they able to control their quasi-linguistic behaviour appropriate to the environment.
