Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to determine the opinions of teacher applicants related to KPSS which is a centralized exam used for teacher appointments.The descriptive research model which is a general scanning model was used in this research.A questionnaire with 35 articles formed by the researcher was applied to the teacher applicants to determine their opinions related to KPSS.The population of this research was final year undergraduate and graduate students in Ankara.The research?s sample consisted of 627 teacher applicants among final year undergraduate and graduate students taking the Public Personel Selection Examination (KPSS) in 2010.The quantitative approach was used in data analysis.The questionnaire used as a tool of collecting data was evaluated by SPSS program.The significant difference in point of the variables of gender and the case of graduation (graduate or not graduate) was determined by T-test and the significant difference in point of the variables of age and the number of exams taken was determined by one-way analysis of variance.The percentage and frequencies were also specified.It has been understood from the results of research that the teacher applicants have adverse opinions related to KPSS in general.Most of them regard KPSS as the first obstacle that they must overcome in their lives; however they don?t rely on this exam of which importance for them they know, and they don?t believe that this exam serves its purpose.In the matter of centralized exam (KPSS) for teacher appointments, while any significant difference in point of gender hasn?t been found, a significant difference in point of age, the case of graduation and the number of exams taken has been found.
