Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the changes in the vocal fatigue of teachers, who are professional voice users with intense requirements for their voices in their professional lives, in relation to the impact of rest-vacation periods. A total of 61 teachers, aged between 23 and 56, working in different fields, participated in this study. Participants were evaluated using the Vocal Fatigue Index (VFI), a valid and reliable self-report tool. This evaluation took place twice, at the end of the work period and at the end of the rest period. The data obtained were analyzed to observe the effect of rest on vocal fatigue. There was a significant difference in the dimensions of Fatigue and Avoidance with Physical Discomfort (p<0.05), which are the first two main headings of the VFI. However, there was no significant difference in the dimension of Rest and Recovery, the other main heading. The findings indicate a positive impact of rest on teachers' vocal fatigue. The significant differences in the first two main headings, with no significant difference in the dimension of Rest and Recovery, led to the interpretation that teachers may not be aware. This underscores the importance of informing teachers to protect their vocal health.
