Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT Efforts are made to make the use of information technologies effective and widespread in order to make changes in individual behaviors permanent in the changing and developing world. One of the technological tools that has become popular all over the world in recent years and has started to attract attention in our country is "smart board". The opinions of teachers who benefit from this new technology and use it in the teaching environment give important clues about the usability of the smart board in education and training environments. The purpose of this research is to determine teachers' attitudes towards acceptance and use of smart boards. The research is a quantitative study and carried as a descriptive survey. In the study, "Smart Board Acceptance and Intention to Use Scale" adapted into Turkish by Solak (2012) was used. Within the scope of the research, 343 teachers working in primary, secondary and high schools in Istanbul in the academic year of 2020-2021 were reached. Descriptive statistics (percentage, frequency), difference analysis (t-Test, ANOVA) were used in the analysis of the data obtained in the study. If a significant difference was found in ANOVA analyzes, LSD test, one of the multiple comparison (Post Hoc) tests, was used to determine the source of this significant difference. Significance level was accepted as 05. According to the results of the research, teachers were determined at the level of "strongly agree" to the total of the scale (= 4.28) of the smart board acceptance and use intention scale. Accordingly, it can be said that teachers' intention to accept and use the smart board is high. No significant difference was found between the teachers' views on their level of acceptance and intention to use the smart board according to their gender, graduation, educational status, type of school they work, marital status, seniority, age, and education about the smart board. However, a significant difference was found according to the school level and branch. Keywords: Educational technologies, smart board, school, teacher
