Özet (EN)

In this research, it is aimed to reveal the relationship between teachers' ethical mind characteristics and their metacognitive awareness levels. The research was designed with the relational screening model. The sample of the research consisted of 681 teachers working in Afyonkarahisar city center in the 2020-2021 academic year. As data collection tools, the Ethical Mind Inventory (PSI) developed by the researcher and the "Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (BFI)" developed by Schraw and Dennison (1994) and adapted into Turkish by Akın, Abacı, and Çetin (2007) were used to determine the levels of metacognitive awareness. In the process of analyzing the data obtained in the research, frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), LSD test, Pearson Product Moment Correlation, Simple Linear Regression analysis were used. According to the results of the research, it was determined that the ethical mind characteristics levels mostly thought "often", and the metacognitive awareness levels mostly thought "usually". In addition, it is seen that there is a positive low-level significant relationship between teachers' ethical mind characteristics and their metacognitive awareness levels. It has been determined that there is a significant difference in the variables of the ethical mind characteristics of the teachers in terms of gender, age group, graduation status, the faculty from which they graduated, taking part in any organization voluntarily, and the level of participation in social activities. It was determined that the ethical mind characteristics of the teachers did not make a statistically significant difference in terms of the variable of marital status, the place of residence of the school where they worked. It was concluded that the metacognitive awareness levels of the teachers differed significantly in terms of gender, age, marital status, graduation status, type of faculty from which they graduated, location of the school, taking part in any organization voluntarily, and participation in social activities. It has been determined by the analyzes that the ethical mind feature levels of the teachers are a significant predictor of the metacognitive awareness levels.
