Abstract (EN)

This study is a study targeting teachers and it is aimed to develop a scale to measure teachers' anxiety towards the career ladder exam and also to determine the relationship between teachers' job satisfaction, life satisfaction and job-related emotional exhaustion with the developed scale. In line with the first purpose, an anxiety scale was developed to measure the anxiety levels of teachers towards the career steps exam, which was revised and put into practice again. First, the opinions of the teachers about the career steps exam were obtained using the interview technique. Then, an item pool was created in line with the ideas obtained from the interview. Later, expert opinions were obtained regarding the items in the item pool and the items were finalized. A pilot application was conducted with the 20 items obtained. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) was performed to finalize the number of items and the number of dimensions. As a result of EFA, it was decided that the scale would consist of 8 items and two dimensions. The reliability coefficient of the entire scale was found to be .726, the reliability coefficient of the professional anxiety dimension was found to be .706, and the reliability coefficient of the personal anxiety dimension was found to be .652. The internal consistency coefficient values obtained were found to be at a reliable level. Then, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) study was conducted to determine the direct or indirect relationship between the scale developed for the second aim of the study and the levels of job satisfaction, life satisfaction and jobrelated emotional exhaustion. The sample of the study consists of 277 teachers in Şanlıurfa province. The results showed that job satisfaction and job-related emotional exhaustion have only direct effects on teachers' anxiety towards the career ladder exam. It was concluded that teachers with high job satisfaction also have high anxiety about the career ladder exam. Similarly, it was determined that teachers with high levels of job-related emotional exhaustion have high anxiety about the career ladder exam.
