Abstract (EN)
The role of the teacher in education and training is quite large. While teachers are performing their duties, certain situations can have an impact on their performance. The aim of this study is to determine the opinions of teachers about leadership styles and parent approaches, which are thought to have an impact on teacher performance. For this purpose, data were collected. Interview and document analysis methods were used to collect data. The selection of the teachers constituting the study group was made with easily accessible case sampling methods. The sample of the research consists of the Head Teacher Atatürk Secondary School, which is a secondary education institution affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in Antalya province Muratpaşa in the fall semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. In this study, which was designed as a qualitative research, interviews were conducted, and the participants presented their thoughts individually. A total of 21 participants were interviewed. A semi-structured interview form prepared by the researcher was used. By its very nature, it was the participants, not the researcher, who shaped and guided the research in qualitative research. The interviews were audio recorded over the phone. In order to strengthen the data obtained, the MEB Secondary Education Regulation was examined as a document review, and the results were recorded in the findings section by examining the items in line with the opinions of the teachers. The research data were analyzed with thematic, descriptive and content analysis methods and the findings were revealed. Based on the findings, comments and suggestions were made. According to the teachers' opinions in the research, cooperative, democratic and cultural leadership style is positive on teacher performance; It has been concluded that authoritarian and liberating leadership styles have a negative effect. It was determined according to the opinions of the teachers that the parents' approaches have both positive and negative effects on teacher performance.
