Abstract (EN)

The number of the researches on the term of cynicism emerging in recent years increases. The purpose of this study was to examine the cynicism effects on the teachers working at educational institutions.The population of the study consists of the teachers working at the 24 government schools in Çankırı, Turkey. Scannig model and convenience sampling method were used in this research. Determining sample size was reached and 304 surveys were evaluated. The Organizational Cynicism Scale developed by Sağır and Oğuz in 2012 was utilized.Questionnaire form was prefered as data collection method and the program of SPSS was used to analyse the data. The normal distribution of data was examined in order to decide to analysis method used according to sub problems.Based on the results of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, for the significance level was bigger than .05, parametric tests were applied.Within the scope of the research's sub problems, the techniques arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test, and one- way analysis of variance were used to analyse the data. Based on the results, it was seen that the teachers exhibited negative behaviours and attitudes to towards the instutitions in which they worked and also their participations to the schools' co-decisions were not at the desired level. According to the gender, it was found out that the level of schoolmasters' organizational cynicism was higher. The findings of this study further indicated that the two variables of education unions and education levels didn't have meaningful differences. In terms of seniority status, the level of organizational cynicism of the teachers having 21 years and over seniority was higher. Keywords: Cynicism, organizational cynicism, teacher
