The relationship between teachers' self-efficiencies and their behaviors of adaptation to the business environment

The main purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between teachers' self-efficacy and their behavior of adapting to the work environment. In the research, the relational survey model, which is included in the general survey model studies, was used. The universe of the research consists of 3282 teachers working in primary and secondary schools in the district of Esenyurt, Istanbul in the 2021-2022 academic year. The sample consists of 542 teachers who were selected from this population by simple random sampling method and accepted to participate in the research voluntarily. To obtain the data of the research; "Teacher Self-Efficacy Scale" developed by Schmitz and Schwarzer (2000) in Germany and adapted into Turkish by Yılmaz, Köseoğlu, Gerçek and Soran (2004), "Teachers' Self-Efficacy Questionnaire" developed by Demirkasimoğlu (2012) and "Personal Information Questionnaire" form has been used. The analysis of the obtained data was done with the SPSS program. As a result of the analyzes made; It has been observed that teachers' self-efficacy is at a level above the average and there are significant differences according to variables such as marital status, school type, educational status, but not according to gender, branch and professional seniority. It was observed that the adaptation behaviors of the teachers to the work environment were again at a level above the average and showed significant differences according to the marital status, school type and branch variable, but did not show significant differences in terms of gender, professional seniority and educational status. When the research findings were examined, the relationship between teachers' self-efficacy and their levels of adaptation to the work environment was found to be moderately positive and significant. It was observed that teachers' self-efficacy predicted their work and work environment adaptation behavior at a low rate.
