The relationship between teachers' perceptions on paternalistic leadership and perceptions on job satisfaction level

It is aimed to analyze the relationship between school principals' paternalistic leadership behaviors and teacher job satisfaction according to teachers' perceptions. This research is a relational reasearch. The population of this research is 15.343 teachers working in formal primary and secondary school in Adıyaman in 2022-2023 in fall term. In this research, data obtained from 688 teachers who participated in this study voluntarily was taken as basis. The data analysis tools used in this research are Personal Information Form, Paternalistic Leadership Behaviors Scale (P.L.B.S.) and TALIS-Teacher Job Satisfaction Scale (T.J.S.S.). To analyze data; descriptive analysis, T-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation Analysis and Stepwise Regression Analysis has been used. As a result of T-test and ANOVA analysis; there is difference in terms of teachers' gender, professional seniority and school level variables, however there isn't difference in terms of educational level variable in teachers' perceptions of paternalistic leadership behavior of school principals and teacher job satisfaction. It is concluded that according to teachers' perceptions of school principals' paternalistic leadership behavior explains teacher job satisfaction.
