Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between teachers' perceptions of social gender equality, organizational ostracism, and organizational obstruction. The study universe of the research consisted of 1078 secondary school teachers working at public schools in Bolu province in the 2020-2021 academic year. The data was collected online and data from 493 secondary school teachers was included within the scope of the research. A correlational survey model was used in the study. To determine the demographic characteristics of the teachers in data collection, the personal information form, "The Social Gender Equality Scale" developed by the researcher, "Organizational Ostracism Scale" developed by Abaslı (2019), "Organizational Obstruction Scale" developed by Töremen (1999), and the validity and reliability study of which was reviewed by Yıldız (2011), and "The Willingness to Self-Censor Scale" developed by Coşkun, Durak, and Elgin (2012) were used. Frequency, percentage, Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis, Spearman rank correlation, and simple linear regression analysis tests were used to analyze the data. The findings of the research indicated that the social gender equality perceptions of the teachers who participated in the study were "I strongly agree." throughout the scale and under family life, school life, social life, and working life subdimensions; "I totally agree" under family effect subdimension, "I strongly disagree" throughout the organizational ostracism scale and under slight and isolate sub-dimensions, "I disagree" in the organizational obstruction scale. Besides, teacher perceptions indicated a statistically significant difference according to some demographics characteristics. Furthermore, there were low-level positive and negative oriented significant relationships between the variables in the study. Finally, social gender equality, although low-level, significantly predicted organizational ostracism and organizational obstruction. KEY WORDS: Social Gender Equality, Organizational Ostracism, Organizational Obstruction
