Examination study of relationship between teachers'management participation perception,expectances and organizational dependence levels(Umraniye district sample)

Abstract (EN)

This research is held in an attempt to enhancing the quality of education processes examining the relationship between organizational dependence level in respect to teachers' perceptions and their management participation perception by means of identifying the factors if there are positive or negative factors that can affect teachers' organizational dependence level, expectance and management participation level.Intentionally, the goal in this study is to determine whether teachers' management participation perception, expectances and organizational dependence level who are on duty at primary, secondary and high schools differ statistically in an expressive level depending on gender, age, seniority, type of school and duty and again determine whether there is significant level of relationship between teachers' management participation perception, expectance and organizational dependence level who perform at primary, secondary and high schools.Descriptive scanning model is used in this survey. Population in the study is composed teachers work in primary, secondary and high schools that are under the management of Ministry of Education located in Umraniye district in Istanbul. Accordingly, scales are applied to totally 110 teachers chosen from the population by the way of coincidental sampling. Organizational Dependence Scale, adapted to Turkish by Kamer (2001) is used to measure teachers' organizational dependence level. The scale consists of 40 questions and 4 sub dimensions as sensibility to employee, trust on director, being open to innovation and communication environment. Management Participation Scale, improved by Aldemir (1996) is put into use to evaluate teachers' expectances and management participation perception. 12 questions and 2 sub dimensions as perceived participation and expected participation are included in this scale. At the analysis stage of input data, frequency and percentage values of demographic features are examined, arithmetic average and standard deviation of percentage scores that taken from scales are calculated by using SPSS 15.0 program. Independent Group T Testing is used to determine whether the score obtained from Organizational Dependence and Management Participation Scales become different in accordance with the teachers' gender; Kruskal Wallis-H Testing Analysis is used for detection of any difference according to age, seniority, type of school and branch; Mann Whitney-U Testing is used to state significant difference that occur in which groups and Mann Whitney-U Testing is applied to determine the changes based upon duty. According to consequences of research, teachers' management participation perception differs as regard to gender. Teachers' perception of communication environment capability changes depending on age and duty, trust on director changes depending on duty, being open to innovation changes depending on branch, organizational dependence level shows difference according to gender, seniority and type of school. As teachers' management participation level increases, their organizational dependence level also increases. As teachers' management participation level increases, their sensitivity perception level also increases. As teachers' management participation level increases, trust on director level also increases. As teachers' management participation level increases, being open to innovation perception level also increases. As teachers' management participation level increases, capability of communication environment perception level also increases. There is no meaningful relationship between teachers' management participation expectances, sub dimensions of organizational dependence and perception levels. Teachers' management participation perception level has no expressive connection with management participation expectances.
