The intellectuel problem of Oğuz Atay novels

Novels have started to appear in Turkish literature with the Tanzimat Period and it has served modernization wind to conversion and replacement of all institutions. It is not a coincidence that novel, which is the key point in the Westernization of Turkey, enter the literary life with Tanzimat Period. Most of intellectuals of this period, when the rapid transformation took place, are novelist. Intelectuals, were obtained mission to write something in order to "educate the society" even though they were not writers. This study attempt to bring the concept maps over the novels and intellectuals that has active role on modernization. In the wake of intellectual novelist that adopted the left movement and ideology, which started to become invisible in social life, Oğuz Atay was thought to be a privileged place in this context and the focus of the study is he and his works. In this study, the concept of intellectuals and intellectual personality to be studied by setting out from Oğuz Atay's novels.
