Abstract (EN)
The poetics of Oktay Rifat (1914-1988), one of the prominent poets of Turkish poetry, depends on change and renewal. Every poetic experience is a new start for Rifat who never lost touch with social issues. The themes and the tecniques he used also contributed to his efforts to establish relations with the society. The point where Rifat?s poetics reached, consequently, is a synthesis that is created by his own poems. One of the primary aims of this thesis is to analyze Oktay Rifat?s poetry. This is why his poetry and prose are considered as the core of the analysis. In this study Oktay Rifat?s poetry books are handled chronologically. These books are classified and studied to indicate the evolution of his poetry. This study reveals that Oktay Rifat?s poetry has evolved over time by changing and improving itself. This development reflects a continuity without any breaks.
