Reading Comprehension Test and Mathematics Achievement Test were used for getting data for the research. SPSS 16.0 software programme was used for analysing the data. Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient was estimated in order to understand the relation between the skill of ?reading comprehension? and ? the mathematical achievement?. Furthermore, Frequency (f), Percentage (%), and t-test (t), the One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskall Wallis H test (depending on the homogenity of the data) were used.At the end of the research, the results below were found: there was nearly high relation between the reading comprehension and mathematics achievement scores (r= 0,68); there was not a clear difference between reading comprehension scores according to gender variable and frequency of reading a book, and there was not a clear difference between mathematics achievement scores according to gender variable and frequency of reading a book. There was a clear difference between reading comprehension scores according to whether they have difficulty or not and the school?s socio-economical features, and there was a clear difference between mathematics achievement scores according to whether they have had difficulty of understanding what they read and the school?s socio-economical features. There have been variable suggestions from the results of the research.Key Words: Reading comprehension, Mathematics achievement, Summative evaluation, 6th grade of the Primary School.
