School principals' 21st century skills and their relationship with school climate

This study was conducted to determine the 21st century skill levels of school administrators according to teacher perceptions and to examine the relationship of these skills with the school climate. For this purpose, the data collection tool consisting of a personal information form, Education Administrators 21st Century Skills Scale and Organizational Climate Scale was applied to the 412 volunteer teachers who work in the official kindergarten, primary, secondary, high school, science high school, social sciences high school, imam-hatip anatolian high school, vocational and technical anatolian high schools in the provinces and districts of Kütahya in the 2021-2022 academic year. The data obtained from the study were analyzed in computer environment by means of SPSS 22.0 statistical program. As a result of the research, it was found that school administrators have high level 21st century skills in all dimensions according to teachers. In the study, it was found that teachers have a high level perception of "Supporting Principal Behavior", "Sincere Teacher Behavior" and "Collaborative Teacher Behavior" and a moderate level perception of, "Restrictive Principal Behavior", "Managing Principal Behavior" and "Disinterested Teacher Behavior" about the climate of their school. At the same time, it has been determined that there are significant relationships between the dimensions that determine the 21st century skills of school administrators and the dimensions of school climate. As the level of school administrators' having 21st century skills increases, the level of having a positive organizational climate of schools also increases. In addition, in the research, it was determined that there were differences in the perceptions of school administrators regarding 21st century skills and school climate according to the descriptive characteristics of teachers.
