Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research is to examine the emotional management skills of school administrators. In this study, which was conducted with the phenomenological design, one of the qualitative research methods, an interview was used as a data collection method. When determining the sample in the research, purposive sampling was used, and a maximum diversity sample was taken. The findings of this research indicate that in terms of awareness of emotional management, school administrators experience positive emotions such as happiness and patience, while negative emotions include anger, impatience, and sadness. In terms of experiences, anger, prejudice, and tension are identified as emotions that need to be managed. It is observed that dealing with emotions is easier in warm school environments where there is effective communication, tolerance, and motivational elements. Empathetic and fair approaches, as well as social activities in the school, are highlighted as prominent factors in emotional management. Regarding coping with emotions, the most commonly used methods by school administrators are experience sharing, patient behavior, and cooling methods. In terms of inspiration, one-on-one meetings, solution-focused approaches, and persuasion methods are predominantly used.
