Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the power sources used by school principals and their humor styles according to the perceptions of teachers working in the central districts of Ankara in the 2021-2022 academic year. In the research, descriptive research was conducted in the relational survey model. 309 teachers participated in the research. Personal Information Form, Power Type Scale, Humor Behaviors Scale were used in the questionnaire used to collect the data of the research. SPSS version 24.0 was used in the analysis of the data. In the normality analysis test, it was determined that the distribution was normal according to the skewness and kurtosis values. For the resolution of sub-problems, mean (X̅), frequency (f), standard deviation (Ss), percent (%), T-test for independent sample groups, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient (r) and regression analysis was performed. In all analysis results, the level of significance was taken as p<.05. When the findings of the study were evaluated, it was determined that the school principals used the reward power at the highest level and the coercive power at the least level according to the perceptions of the teachers. It was determined that school principals had the highest level of approving humor and the lowest level of sarcastic humor. According to teachers' age, seniority, gender, education level, and branch variables, there is no significant difference in school principals' humor style and their preferences for using power resources. When the relationship between the power sources used by school principals and their humor styles is examined, there is a negative relationship between personality and reward power type, non-humorous, sarcastic and rejecting humor styles; There is a positive relationship between affirmative humor and productive social humor style. Positive relationship between legal and coercive power type and non-humorous, sarcastic and rejecting humor style; There is a negative relationship between affirmative humor and productive humor style. It has been concluded that power types are a significant predictor of the effect of school principals' humor styles. It was concluded that the effect of power types on humor style was the most significant predictor of rejecting humor style, while it was the lowest predictor of productive social humor style.
