Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of basic gymnastics training applied during the preschool period (ages 4–6) on children's balance and various motor characteristics. The research was conducted using an experimental design. The population of the study consisted of preschool children participating in free basic gymnastics training programs organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports at the Bağcılar Multi-Purpose Sports Hall. The sample included children aged 4–6 who regularly attended these training sessions. The study involved 8 weeks of weekly recorded, planned, and systematic basic gymnastics training. Data collection tools included vertical jump, horizontal jump, flamingo balance, single-leg balance, and speed tests. The data obtained will be analyzed using descriptive statistics and appropriate reviews to improve the structured gymnastics program. The findings of the study revealed that the 8-week basic gymnastics training program had a significant positive effect on children's balance abilities and certain motor characteristics. Based on these results, it can be concluded that basic gymnastics training applied during the preschool period is an effective movement education method that supports children's motor development.
