Research on "creative music activities design for pre-school"

Music education has an educational and recreational purpose in the preschool period. Music education provided in this period serves many purposes such as distinguishing sounds, using their voice correctly, expressing themselves, let children get familiar with different musical cultures, improving their aesthetic values, gaining a sense of music and rhythm, and supporting the creativity of children. Developing all these skills is only possible by making music enjoyable and productive and offering various music activities to children. In this study, it is aimed to design creative activities in order to enhance the musical skills of preschool children and to support their different development areas and promote their musical acquisitions in different ways. Accordingly, 36-week different activities were prepared for preschool music education in line with the general objectives of preschool education set by MEB. Opinions of the preschool teachers were received on issues such as the implementation of musical activities prepared within the scope of this study in the classroom, the competencies of preschool teachers related to the music lesson, and the contribution of these activities to preschool children and teachers. In line with this feedbacks, it is concluded that preschool teachers find themselves sufficient in the field of music, but they encounter a lot of problems while implementing musical activities. Besides, it was concluded that the activities prepared will benefit pre-school teachers and children. It is thought that this study will contribute to preschool students and teachers, as well as preschool music education.
