Abstract (EN)

This thesis examines the relationship between child and architecture in the frame of creating a sustainable future based on the idea that the gains obtained from the experience of architecture constitute the basis for the subsequent stages of life and shape the future. In this context; firstly, the child who is the focus of the study was examined. After the examination, the preschool education process was considered as a determination for the chosen subject. Within this framework, the education process around the world and in Turkey were researched. The evaluations of the research were supported by the data obtained from international reports. Subsequently, current examples of the preschool education environments around the world and Turkey were examined. Thus, the current trends on the relationship established between the child and architecture during preschool education process were determined. As a result, a sustainable proposal for the operation of this process was offered for Turkey in particular. The method used in the study is to identify and examine the main subjects and main examples through the literature review in the fields of architecture, pedagogy, education and sociology. This study is important in terms of the fact that today's children are adults of the future in the continuity of life.
