The opinions of preschool teachers on ethics

The purpose of this research is to examine the views of preschool education teachers about ethics. The research was designed in accordance with the qualitative method and the phenomenology (maturation) technique. The participants of the research consisted of 32 preschool education teachers working in Zonguldak in the 2020-2021 academic year. In order to collect the data of the research, a general information form and a structured questionnaire prepared by the researcher were used. Due to the epidemic period, the participants filled the forms online and then sent them to the researcher online. The data obtained were transcribed and transferred to the computing environment and analyzed with an inductive approach. Descriptive and content analysis techniques were used in the analysis of the collected data. First, similar data were combined, codes were created, and categories were reached from codes that were related to each other. As a result of the research, it was determined that the participants perceived ethics in social, personal, and universal dimensions. Moreover, it was determined that the participants based on equality and justice to act ethically in their work with children, respect children's rights and children's individual differences, and are aware of the importance of the issue of values as it is related to ethical values. Finally, it has been determined that there is not enough communication with families in the distance education process, there is an inequality of opportunity in education for various reasons, and it is difficult to reach children.
