Study on the views of preschool teachers related to professional ethical conduct: Sample for Adıyaman

The aim of this research is to evaluate the Views of Preschool Teachers Related to Professional Ethical Conduct. Therefore, screening model has been used. Target population of the study was the preschool teachers working in official preschool institutions located in Adıyaman. The sample of this study was 194 preschool teachers working in official nursery classes or kindergartens in 2011-2012 academic year. The Scale of Preschool Teachers? Ethical Conduct (OÖEDÖ), developed by Sakin (2007), was used for data collection. The scale included 63 questions and seven sub-dimensions. The scale was prepared as 6 level Likert scale and its validity and reliability analysis was made by Sakin (2007). The coefficient of the scale reached the Cronbach alpha (r= .893) reliability values. The answers to 6 level Likert scale related to determine how often the preschool teachers adopted the behaviours appropriate to code of ethics are as follows: `Strongly disagree?, `Mostly Disagree?, `Disagree?, `Agree?, `Mostly Agree?, `Strongly Agree?. For the analysis of the data, SPSS 15.0 programme was used and tests of significance such as t-test, Variance Analysis, Kruskall Wallis H were employed according to whether the data, frequency and percentage (%) are dispersed homogeneous.As a result of the research, it has been found that there was not big difference between the views of preschool teachers related to professional ethical conduct in terms of age, marital status, graduation school, school type, number of children in the family, education state of fathers, and economic conditions. It has also been found that there was a difference in terms of service life, education state of mothers, number of brothers. Various advices based on the results of the study have been proposed.
