Examination of the relationship between pre-school teachers' professional attitude and school climate perceptions

Knowing the relationship between the professional attitudes of the teachers and the culture of the school they work in is of great importance for the success of the schools. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between the professional attitudes of preschool teachers and their perceptions of school climate. For this purpose, the population of the research consists of pre-school teachers working in Sivas, and the sample of the research consists of 291 teachers selected by simple and random sampling method from this population. The research was carried out in quantitative research design and survey model. In the study, 'Attitude towards Teaching Profession Scale' and 'School Climate Scale' were used as data collection tools. Personal Information Form was used to determine the demographic characteristics of the participants. IBM 25 SPSS program was used in the analysis of the data. The results of the study revealed that teachers' attitudes towards the profession and perceptions of school climate are high. It was found that there is a positive and moderately significant relationship between teachers' professional attitude and school climate perceptions. In addition, there is a statistically significant and moderately positive relationship between the professional attitudes of preschool teachers and the school climate sub-dimensions. However, a low-level negative relationship was determined in the conflict sub-dimension. Preschool teachers' school climate perceptions predict their attitude towards the teaching profession positively and significantly.
