Abstract (EN)
Turkey has been exposed to an intense Syrian migration with the effect of the Arab Spring movement. This migration has created some needs in the field of education as well as in the social and cultural field. Firstly, studies including educational services for the population in camps has been carried out to supply the educational needs. After the studies on the population in camps, 3 different circulars were issued to solve the problems created by the two different education systems among the children living inside and outside the camps. As a continuation of these studies the PIKTES Project was developed in line with negotiations with the European Union. The aim of the research is to evaluate the Project of Promoting the Integration of Syrian Children into the Turkish Education System according to the views of teachers and administrators. Qualitative research method was used in the research. The working group was formed by the administrators and teachers working in the province of Kayseri in the 2022-2023 academic year, having 10 or more Syrian students in the school, or working in the schools where the PIKTES project is carried out. The data collection tool is an interview form being developed by the researcher. The data of the study were obtained by researcher own his own by interview technique via recording voice. The data held from the study has been transferred to the computer. After the classification of the data being done, the coding progress was begun. Codes were formed in the light of carefully checked by several times. After the coding process, themes were formed by combining the codes. Descriptive data analysis method was used in the analysis of the study. According to the findings obtained from the research, except for one of the participants, they received training and seminars within the scope of the PIKTES project. The majority of the participants found the PIKTES project positive, some found it incomplete, and a small part negative. While a small part of the participants found it sufficient, most of them saw the PIKTES project partially sufficient, and nearly half of them considered it insufficient. While the participants stated the negative situations, they encountered in the PIKTES project as conflicts, groupings, inadequacy in teaching Turkish, crowded, extra workload, positive situations, support of schools, financial support, teacher and administrator training. Compared to the previous period, the participants stated the negative impact of the project as conflicts, while the positive gains were expressed as teacher and administrator training and financial support. Participants stated that they want to develop Turkish education, social, cultural activities and pre-school education as a PİKTES project.
