The relationship between transformational leadership characteristics of school masters and teachers' organizational commitment with motivation levels

This research was conducted to determine the realationship between the transformational leadership characteristics of school masters and teachers' organizational commitment with motivation levels. In this research which is a quantitive research type, the relational screening method was used. The population of research consists of 234 teachers at public schools in Mucur district of Kırşehir province. The sample of the research consists of 163 teachers selected by a simple random method among these teachers. During the date collection process, "Transformational Leadership-Organizational Commitment ve Motivation" scales were used. On the analysis of collected data; descriptive statistics (mean, standart deviation, minimum, maximum), independent t-test, One Way Anova, Pearson moments multiplication correlation coefficient were assessed. Multiple linear regression analysis was used. IBM SPSS software was used during the data analysis process. As a result of the data process; it was determined that the transformational leadership level of school masters was high, the motivation levels of teachers were at a medium level and teachers' organizational commitment levels were high. While the transformational leadership characteristics of school masters, organizational commitment and motivation levels don't differentiate significantly according to teachers' gender, they differentiate according to educational status, years of senority and school type. As a result of the analysis of the data, there appears to be a positive, high and significant relationship between the transformational leadership characteristics of school masters and teachers' organizational commitment levels. There appears to be a positive, high and significant relationship between the transformational leadership characteristics of school masters and teachers' motivation levels. There appears to be a positive, high and significant relationship between the teachers' organizational commitment levels and teachers' motivation levels. As a result of the research, it is considered that the two variables mentioned together explain approxtimately %64 of the total variance in teachers' motivation.
