Examination of the relationship between the ethical leadership behaviors of school heads and the ethical climate according to teacher's perceptions

Abstract (EN)

This research, in which the relationship between the ethical leadership behaviors of school principals and the ethical climate in the school is examined based on teacher opinions, is in a quantitative correlational research design. The sample of the research consists of 325 teachers working in public high schools in Çankaya district of Ankara Province. "Demographic Form", "Ethical Leadership Scale" and "Organizational Ethical Climate Scale" were used as data collection tools in the research. SPSS and Microsoft Excel were used in the analysis of the data. Within the scope of the analysis, firstly, the normality of the data was examined and since it was seen that the data did not exhibit normal distribution, non-parametric methods were used in the analysis. While examining the differentiation status of the scales according to demographic data, Mann Whitney U test was used for comparisons of two groups and Kruskal Wallis test was used for comparison of more than two groups. Spearman correlation was used in the correlation calculations. As a result of the analyzes made; the level of ethical leadership behaviors of the school administrator is perceived above the medium level; When the differentiation status of teachers' perceptions about ethical leadership behaviors of school administrators according to some demographic variables is examined, it is determined that there is no differentiation in terms of gender, age; It has been determined that there is a differentiation in teacher perceptions in some sub-dimensions according to the educational status and the length of stay in the school. When the ethical climate perception levels of the teachers were examined, it was found that they had a high level of ethical climate perception. Ethical climate perception of teachers; It has been determined that it varies according to gender, age, education level and the length of stay at the school. There is a moderately positive relationship between ethical leadership and ethical climate; According to the regression analysis, it was concluded that ethical leadership predicted ethical climate statistically significantly and positively.
