The examination of school administrators' opinions regarding to the processes of strategic planning and implementation procedure (Kadıköy district sample)

This study is carried out to examine opinions school administrators? who are in charge in Kadiköy district regarding to the processes of strategic planning and implementation procedure. Population of the study is composed of school administrators ( principal, vice-principal, and head assistants of principal) who are in charge in 2012-2013 school year. . The sample of the study is composed of 149 school directors who are in charge in Kadiköy district. . Demografic information form and questionnaire are applied to administrators who attented to the study. Information that is acquired from the study is analyzed with SPSS 21.0 programme. Descriptive frequency and percentage distribution are calculated according to the demographic features and the answers that were given in the questionnaire , after , ss, SHx values are shown in the tables to calculate total points. Chi-square analysis is also made to make out whether the opinions of school directors regarding to strategic planning and implementation procedure depend on gender, educational background, school type, inservice training situation or not. At the end of the study, it is understood that school directors have positive opinions about strategic planning and they think that strategic planning is necessary, beneficial, and useful. However, it is determined that there are some problems to prepare plans and their implimentation and they need professional team support.. Furthermore, directors think that teacher are reluctant about strategic planning.. It is observed that variables such as gender, educational background and school type do not make important difference on the opinions of directors but directors who received inservice training about the subject have more positive opinions comparing to directors who did not receive any training about it.
