Abstract (EN)

Natural products constitute an important resource for drug discovery in recent years. For centuries, men benefited from aromatic plants and natural resources for medical treatment and protection.Olive leaf is an easily accessable natural material which is rich for healthy bioactive phytochemicals. Many researches proved that phytochemicals, which have antioxidant properties, strenghtence the immun system and have antitumoral effects. Grape seed proanthocyanidin extract (GSPE) is a compund which occures many flavanoids and has effective antioxidant activity. Proanthocyanidins are used as antioxidant, in preventing atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases, and for dislipidemy treatment. It is demonstrated that GSPE have antiproliferative, antioxidative and anticarsinogenetic effects.Research into experimental angiogenesis shows that this can be a strategy with an important role in cancer therapy in near future. In this thesis, we investigted of olive leaf and grape seed extracts, alone and combination and also gold binded forms by using in vitro tests. Cytotoxic were invastigated against to A549 and HUVEC cell lines and angiogenic- antiangiogenic effects were assessed on HUVEC cells with in vitro techniques.Altough GSPE didn?t show any significant cytotoxic effect , olive leaf extracts showed dose depended cytotoxicity and both extracts together and severelly showed anti-angiogenic effect. Also the combine form with Au complexies didn?t present cytotoxicity but showed significant anti-angiogenic effect.
