Abstract (EN)

The science of ethics, as a philosophical discipline in the tradition of Islamic thought, emerged after the 2nd century A.H. Ethics, which was processed in religious sciences such as Hadith, Tafsir and Fiqh until this period, found a ground for itself with scientific and philosophical research and discussions after this period. After this field gained a scientific ground, an intense interest was shown in it and various works were written in every period. Islamic political philosophy, which is related to Islamic moral thought, started with Farabi's examination of the works of Aristotle and Plato on political philosophy and then giving his own works in this field. Later, many authors wrote various works on Islamic political thought. Islamic political thought has also developed within the framework of offering solutions to social issues and the relations of societies with each other, based on moral theories in Islamic thought. For this reason, moral thought and political understanding in Islam have not been very separate structures from each other. Many works were written in the field of ethics and politics in the Ottoman science and thought life. The work called En-Namusu'l-Akvem li Saadeti'l-Umem, which is the subject of our thesis, was written in the last period of the Ottoman Empire. Although the work is associated with political philosophy in some catalogues, it is seen that it is related to moral thought in terms of its content. In our thesis, the content of the work has been summarized, evaluated and analyzed. In this context, it has been determined that the work is a work of Islamic moral thought, which was written in the last period of the Ottoman Empire.
