Abstract (EN)
This study consists of the syntactic analysis of Ömer Seyfeddin?s ten stories written in different years. The objectives of this study are to bring a different approach to the analysis of the stories within the context of both classic grammar and modern grammer, to define the power and limits of expression in Turkish language through these stories, to display at the same time how the author?s emotions, ideas and observations are transferred to superficial structures. Therefore, these stories are analyzed in 9 different chapters: The ?Introduction? chapter which constitutes the first part of the study mainly dwells upon the author?s life, literary activities and art. In the second part entitled ?Concept Marking?, the characteristics of the concepts building the stories, as well as noun and adjective phrases are given. In the third part called ?Sentence Elements in Base Form?, nouns and verbs in base form are presented. In the fourth part named ?Concept Connections?, noun and verb conjugations which are correlated with the concepts are introduced with examples. The fifth part establishing the base of the study, entitled ?Complement- Verb Connections? sentence elements are discussed and complements are classified according to their functions. In the the sixth part ,?Sentence Complements?, sentence complements that are integrated to the noun and verb phrases are analyzed. In the seventh part ?Types of Sentences?, 2219 sentences in the corpus are analyzed according to their structures, meanings, the positions and types of the verbs, in addition, by giving information on percentages, sentence patterns indicating the structural features of all the sentences are presented. The ?Conclusion? part includes the total results which are deducted from the analysis in general. In the following part, the corpus, including the page and line numbers of the book from which the stories are taken, is given to provide the reader/researcher with the utmost benefit. Finally, the morphemes employed in the study are given in the ?Morphology Index? whereas works consulted during this study can be seen in the ?Resources? section.
