Abstract (EN)
In this study, the folkloric elements of Omer Seyfettin's stories have been investigated and analyzed. Omer Seyfettin who is one of the most famous writers of Turkish literature came up with tens of valuable works in his short life, only 36 years long. Since the writer was a soldier, he had to live in various cities such as Istanbul, Izmir and Thessaloniki. During his military service, his passion for writing brought us a collection with thousands of pages which include stories, articles, memories, poems, letters, translations and jokes. Omer Seyfettin is one of the founders of the movement of "Yeni Lisan", a known group of writers in Turkish literature. The writer who put a lot effort into the development of Turkification wrote 163 stories. In our study, these stories have been classified and analyzed with respect to the research areas of folklore. Our conclusions indicate that each of the stories of Omer Seyfettin can be a research topic because of their rich folkloric aspects observed.
