Abstract (EN)
A case management model is recommended to provide effective control in chronic diseases. This study was carried out in a quasi-experimental type with pretest-posttest control group in order to examine the effect of case management model on nursing care satisfaction, self-care management and anxiety level in the care of oncology patients. The sample of the study consisted of 61 volunteer cancer patients who received treatment with the diagnosis of cancer in the oncology department of two foundation hospitals and met the inclusion criteria. Case management procedure was applied to the experimental group in line with the case management model, and routine clinical care was applied to the control group. Data were collected with Information Form, Self-Care Management Scale in Chronic Diseases, State Trait Anxiety Inventory, and Newcastle Nursing Care Satisfaction Scale. The analysis of the data is detailed in the content of the thesis. Descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U, Wilcoxon and chi-square tests were used. Significance was evaluated at p<.05 levels. The mean age of the patients participating in the study was 49.38±15.75 years, 52.5% male, 72.1% married, 83.6% SGK insurance, 73.8% non-smoker, 85% It was determined that ,17% of them had lung cancer. The post-test mean scores of the patients in the experimental group were respectively Newcastle Nursing care satisfaction 76.03±12.04, self-care management in chronic diseases 120.9±9.74, state anxiety 43.81±4.87, trait anxiety 47, It was 84±4.57. Post-test total score average of the patients in the control group was 70.04±12.22, respectively, nursing care satisfaction, self-care management in chronic diseases 121.17±10.02, state anxiety 42.6±3.55 trait anxiety is 46.9±3.92. No statistically significant difference was found between the nursing care satisfaction of the patients in the experimental and control groups, self-care management and anxiety levels in chronic diseases. Results; showed that the participants' nursing care satisfaction and self-care management level in chronic diseases were high, their anxiety level was moderate, and there was no difference between the groups. It is recommended to make plans to improve anxiety levels while creating an individualized care plan during the chemotherapy treatment process of oncology patients.
