Abstract (EN)
Although parametric amplifiers and oscillators represent a relatively old field of theorical research, parametric amplifiers using optical fibers has attracted attention recently. In this thesis, nonlinearities in optical fibers are generally discussed and parametric amplification and parametric oscillation processes, which are a couple of applications of these nonlinearities are studied. The source of parametric process in optical fibers is four wave mixing. Classical coupled field equations of four wave mixing for degenerate and nondegenerate cases are analyzed and numerically solved after normalization of the coupled equations. By using the results of the coupled equation analysis, quantum noise analysis in fiber optic parametric amplifiers and oscillators using degenerate four wave mixing is done and it is numerically shown that there exists amplitude squeezing in both amplifiers and oscillators.
