Abstract (EN)

This study aims to determine the effect of organizational entropy on organizational cynicism. The study sample consists of 300 employees working in businesses operating in the textile and apparel sector in Malatya. Using a relational model, the research analyzes the relationship between organizational entropy and organizational cynicism. The analysis of the data obtained from the study was carried out using the SPSS 25.0 package program. Organizational Cynicism Scale developed by Brandes, Dharwadker, and Dean (1999) was used to measure cynicism. Additionally, the Entropic Organizational Climate Scale developed by Çavuş ve Develi (2021) was used to measure employees' perception of organizational entropy. According to the research findings, relational and processual entropy positively and significantly affected cognitive, emotional, and behavioral cynicism. As a result of the difference analysis, employees' relational and processual entropy perceptions show a significant difference according to the age variable. In addition, employees' perceptions of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral cynicism differed significantly according to their educational level and working period. No significant differences could be detected at the level of all organizational variables according to gender, marital status, and institutional position. As a result of the research results, various suggestions have been presented for practitioners and researchers.
