Abstract (EN)

Organizational communication is a form of communication in which managers and employees convey their messages through certain channels in order to get feedbacks. Organizational communication covers everything that a leader in an organization has done and contributed to it anyhow. A key objective of this study is to point out what to do for quality communication, in terms of how satisfied employees are with the communication of their leaders in the organization and how competent the leaders are in communication. Leaders are people who have a variety of virtues that are functional in guiding their followers in their society, or in their organizations. There are many different approaches to leadership such as charismatic, visionary, strategic, transformational, interactive, and servant leadership. Serving leadership is the mainly focus of this study. Servant leadership is a leadership approach set forth by Greenleaf in the 1970s at an age when the lack of human qualities was strongly felt. Although it is a leadership approach, emerged in Western societies, the main characteristics of servant leadership such as to be compassionate, trusting others, modesty, empathizing, self-sacrificing, leading others, having love for others, and serving others are essentials of the culture of the land we live on. We will try to examine the servant leadership with these qualities and the contributions of some scientists to the servant leadership. In this thesis, the relationship between the intensity of servant leadership qualities and the quality of communication in the organization is examined. Quality of communication can be associated with various aspects. In this study, satisfaction and competence are acknowledged as the constituting dimensions of the communication quality. The average of factor loadings has been found as 3.751 for servant leadership, 3,972 for satisfaction dimension in communication and 3,913 for competence dimension in communication out of five. As a result of the study, it has been found that there is a strong relationship both between servant leadership behaviors and satisfaction in organizational communication and between servant leadership behaviors and competence in organizational communication. This basically points to an important situation that managers need to consider in terms of the effectiveness of their communication and the delivery of their messages.
