Effect of organizational silence on organizational health: A research on hotel enterprises in Afyonkarahisar

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine how organizational silence affects organizational health. Within the scope of the research, the data were collected from the employees of hotel enterprises operating in the central district of Afyonkarahisar by survey technique. In the study, the data were subjected to frequency analysis, regression analysis and correlation analysis with the SPSS which is the data analysis program. According to the results of the study, organizational silence has a significant and positive effect on organizational health. Within the scope of the study, the relationship between organizational silence and organizational health was also examined and a significant but weak relationship was found between these two variables. In addition of the research, also the affect of Acquiescent Silence, Defensive Silence, ProSocial Silence which are the sub-dimensions of organizational silence, on organizational health, were measured. As a result of the analyzes, it was found that Acquiescent Silence and ProSocial Silence did not significantly affect on organizational health. Among the sub-dimensions of organizational silence, it was found that only Defensive Silence significantly and positively affected organizational health.
