Relationship between organizational cynicism, organizational citizenship behavior and job satisfaction: A sectoral application

Abstract (EN)

The behavior of employees, which is still the most important resource for businesses, is the subject of many studies. The efficiency of businesses depends on the efficiency of employees at many points. In this research, the effects of organizational citizenship behavior and sub-dimensions of organizational cynicism on job satisfaction, which are thought to have a significant effect on job satisfaction of employees, were examined. For this purpose, a literature review was conducted, and data were collected with a survey method consisting of 60 questions, including demographic questions. The sample of the study consists of 332 employees in the security, municipality, education, and health sectors working as public personnel in Bandirma district of Balikesir. As a result of the literature review, it has been observed that there are a limited number of studies, so it is thought that the study will be beneficial for the researchers and organizations. According to the results of the research, a positive relationship was found between the sub-dimensions of organizational citizenship behavior, virtue, and gentlemen and job satisfaction. Besides, a negative and significant relationship was found between the sub-dimensions of organizational cynicism, cognitive cynicism, affective cynicism and job satisfaction. There were also significant findings in the gender group differences of all variables in the research model.
