The effects of organizational socialization content dimensions on organizational commitment: An empiricial investigation

Abstract (EN)

Successful organizational socialization has created significiant effects on organizational commitment. The socialization of individuals to new organizational requires that they learn to understand and make sense of their new work environment. On the other hand, organizational commitment helps new employement to identify with the organization's rules, goals and values. According to the field work analyses predicted of this goal, 413 employees, working in different departments of five-stars hotels enterprises in Antalya which is the most important tourism city of Turkey employees are made as examples. In this project, in order to prove the six dimensions of organizational socialization content (performance proficiency, people, politics, language, organizational goals and values, history) and organizational commitment frequency, percentage, reliability and validity analyses are predicted. Organizational socialization and organizational commitment were studied seperately and comprehensively in this study. The socalled employees are tested in terms of correlation and regression analyses. Mann Whitney U and Kruskall Wallis test are used to observe whether to have undergone some change towards their organization socialization content dimensions and organizational commitment perception of the employees according to demographical charecteristics. Result of analysis indicate that organizational socialization content dimensions are positive relation with organizational commitment.
