The effect of organizational stress on organizational silence:A study in five star hotels

Human is the most fundemental factor of the business organizations. This circumstance has a considerable role in terms of remaining existence of the business organizations. As a result of increasing social interaction, people might come face to face with some trouble. The consequence of these trouble result in some negative outcome. It is essential that human psychology should be researched and positive solutions shold be put forward in order to overcome these trouble. People can become silent when they are under stress and this can result in unintended consequences for the business organizations. In this completed study, it is aimed to determine the impact of organizational stress on organizational silence by a survey which was carried out five star hotels operating in Afyonkarahisar. Accordingly the survey was carried out 316 employees who work five star hotels operating in Afyonkarahisar. The survey consists of three parts. While the first part consists of demographic characteristics of employees, the second part consist of questions relating to organizational stress and the third part consist of questions about organizational silence. Frequency and percentage distribution, mean, standard deviation, t-test, analysis of variance, correlation and regression analysis were used on the anaysis of the data obtained via the survey in this research. According to the results of the research, a significant relationship between organizational silence organizational stress was found out.
