Abstract (EN)

Orhan Pamuk first began writing in 1974 and became one of the most widely read writers of Turkish literature. Orhan Pamuk, who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2006, has a worldwide reputation. Orhan Pamuk's novels are fed by social events. The sociology of literature, the relations of literary products with the society they uncovered are revealed and they benefit from the understanding of the literary work. Sociology discipline, which is a branch of science, and literature, which is an art branch, are preferred for both researchers and readers. In this study, our aim is to examine the social-social issues in the novels of Orhan Pamuk in the context of the sociology of literature. In this study, evaluations were made in terms of the sociology of literature. Our study consists of three main headings. In the first chapter, Introduction section, information about sociology of literature is given under the title of relationship between Literature and Sociology. In the second part of the study, information about Orhan Pamuk and the novels of Orhan Pamuk were presented and summarized under the title in Orhan Pamuk and his novels. In the third chapter, "Social Issues in the Novels of Orhan Pamuk" , the social issues that our study aims at. These social issues; "Envelope Issue: East-West Conflict", "Family", "Social Issues Related to Economic Activities", "Political and Bureaucratic Social Issues", "Religion-Based Social Issues" and "Education-Based Social Issues". In the conclusion part, a general evaluation of the information obtained as a result of the researches has been made.
