Abstract (EN)
Population growth accelerates the urbanization process and brings many problems with it. These changes have negative consequences on natural land cover. Forest losses are emong the most important changes in land cover. Forest losses not only negatively affect the ecosystems but also cause serious problems in economic and social life. In order to minimize all these negative effects in forest losses and to improve the development in urban areas in a positive way, the process should be carefully monitored and the effects should be well analyzed. These analyzes are of great importance for the development of the natural environment. The subject of this study is the determination of the effects of many criteria on forest losses from land changes that have occurred with the urbanization in the Mediterranean Region over the years, using Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems techniques. Within the scope of the study, the effects of multi-criteria analyzes of the Mediterranean Region between 2000 and 2020 on forest losses from land cover changes were observed. In the study, the effects of Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), precipitation, temperature, land surface temperature, aerosol optical depth, ozone, fire and population data and the effects of these data on forest losses were investigated. The numerical data used in the study were obtained through the analyzes created as a result of algorithms using many satellite data via Google Earth Engine. The correlation between the data obtained within the scope of the study were examined and a Linear Regression statistical model was used.
