Abstract (EN)

The forest products sector is of great importance in terms of sustainability and environmental protection. The certification process is an important step to certify the compliance of the products of the enterprises operating in this sector with environmental and social standards. This study aims to examine and evaluate the certification processes of enterprises operating in the forest products sector in Samsun province. The focus of the research is on the approaches of enterprises to the certification process, the difficulties they face in the process, the impact of certification on their costs, and the effects of certification on marketing strategies. Within the scope of the study, the perceptions of forest products industrial organizations about the certification process, the effects of this process on the sustainable forest management of the employees and the forest organization, certification costs and their contribution to the forest products market, the difficulties encountered in the certification process, general opinions and suggestions for improving the process are discussed in detail. The data were collected from forest products industrial organizations operating in Samsun province by questionnaire method. The survey was conducted through the managers of the enterprises and the data was carefully processed to ensure that the data was accurate and reliable. The survey results show the attitudes of the enterprises towards the certification process, reflects their experiences and expectations in detail. These data were used as the main source in the analysis of the study and guided the results of the research. Based on the results of the research, organizing informative programs about the advantages and importance of the process for the development of the certification processes of the enterprises in the forest products industries sector in Samsun province can increase the participation in the certification process. In order to reduce the difficulties experienced in the certification process, cooperation and resource sharing among enterprises should be encouraged and common certification process practices should be developed. Among these recommendations, information programs should be organized, collaborations and resource sharing should be encouraged, and joint certification process practices should be developed in order to increase the participation of enterprises in the certification process. Consideration of these recommendations may contribute to more effective and efficient management of certification processes.
