Abstract (EN)
In this study, Ornithogalum sigmoideum Freyn et Sint. The antioxidant, antimicrobial and DNA protective activity of Sint. has been investigated. There is no study on bioactive compounds related to these two plants in the literature review. For this reason, the biological activities of the rhizome, flower and leaf parts of this species were obtained by obtaining water and methanol extracts. While the antioxadant values of the extracts showed high value, it was determined that the oxidant values of the extracts obtained in the same way were also high. Again, it was observed that it was not effective against Stenotrophomonas maltophilia bacteria in terms of antibacterial activity on this species. In terms of DNA protective activity, it has been determined that the most effective flower part is water extract, protecting DNA from oxidative damage in all extracts. As a result, it has been demonstrated that it has oxidant and DNA protective active compounds.
